Flamenco musical ‘Amor en la Tierra’ will be staged at Teatro Pavón in Madrid, Spain, on December 20, 2022. Developed in Jerez, one of the cradles of flamenco, the musical is rooted in Christmas, in the story of the birth of Christ. ‘Amor en la Tierra’ uses flamenco rhythms to narrate the period from the moment of the annunciation of Mary to the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. The show will bring together some of the finest and most veteran flamenco performers.
The Amor en la Tierra project (under the generic title Suena Jerez en Navidad) began its journey in 2013 under the direction of Jerez-born guitarist Pepe del Morao (grandson of Manuel Morao, nephew of Moraíto chico and cousin of Diego del Morao), heir to the enormous talent of his dynasty, a prolific artist with great creative capacity.
At the Pavón Theater, he will perform with a cast made up of vocalists Samara Carrasco, Sandra Rincón, Gema Cantarota, Gema Carpio, María del Bastián, Juana del Mono, Chanquita and Manuel Moneo Carrasco. The instrumentalists include Markito Carpio and Bastianito on palmas (handclap percussion); Pepe del Morao and Rubén Martínez on guitars; and Ane Carrasco on percussion.
