Far from Here (Posh and Rock, 2023) and Melanie (Posh and Rock, 2023)
Acclaimed British singer Hayley Griffiths is set to release two albums, “Far from Here” and “Melanie,” on the same day on January 20, 2023. The Celtic music project “Far from Here” is a collaboration between Hayley and producer Mike Stobbie (founding member of British progressive rock band Pallas). It was originally envisioned as a 10-year anniversary follow up to Hayley’s 2011 album, “Celtic Rose” but it was pushed back for various reasons, including the birth of two children and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Far from Here” highlights Hayley’s Celtic music and folk traditions side. Gifted with a crystalline voice, Hayley Griffiths’ voice elegantly combines classical music and folk styles. Moreover, the beautifully crafted arrangements masterfully add folk-rock rhythms; gorgeous Irish whistles; dazzling fiddles; evocative uilleann pipes; delightful harps, guitars and piano; spellbinding, dreamy ethereal moments; and, occasionally, uplifting orchestral sounds.
On the other hand, “Melanie” is the debut studio release from The Hayley Griffiths Band. It is a rock album that features classic rock, hard/heavy rock and epic symphonic progressive rock elements.
Classically trained, Hayley is the former lead singer of progressive rock band, Karnataka. She was also part of the famous Riverdance and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance shows, with whom she toured the globe. She was handpicked by Michael Flatley himself to perform as Erin The Goddess.
Hayley’s debut album “Silver Screen” won the coveted 2010 Album of The Year in the Classical Crossover Awards. The second release was “Celtic Rose” as a celebration of her Celtic music touring career.
In 2011, Hayley was headhunted to join British progressive rock band Karnataka with whom she has since released an award-winning studio album, “Secrets of Angels” and two live DVDS and double CDs, “New Light Live in Concert” and “Secrets of Angels Live at 02 Islington.”
Together with her thriving recording and touring career, Hayley runs her own entertainment agency, ‘Head Over Heels Entertainment’ launched in January 2013 providing first class musicians and entertainers for the Corporate, Cruise and Wedding Market.
