Composer and guitarist Åsmund Reistad has released his debut solo recording, “89% folkemusikk”. The elegantly crafted album includes his own compositions based on traditional Norwegian dances. Despite his deep respect for the folk music tradition, Reistad skillfully adds elements from other genres, such as blues.

Åsmund Reistad is a Norwegian guitarist and composer who has been a part of the Norwegian folk music scene for more than twenty years. He has played alongside many of the best-known musicians in the country. Åsmund has focused on reviving Norwegian folk music by combining it with elements from other genres and arranging it in new ways.

Åsmund Reistad has played numerous concerts and contributed to a multitude of recordings,
leaving his mark as a performer with an extensive technical range and a unique musical style. He also
sings and plays the mandola and is a very competent bass player.
