FlamencoEñe International Showcase Grows with FlamencoEñeOFF and Twelve Concerts in Madrid

FlamencoEñe, the annual flamenco showcase, is growing this year. The SGAE Foundation’s Flamenco Exhibition aimed at international performing arts programmers will return to Madrid. For the first time in its seven editions, FlamencoEñe will present a two-sided set of concerts that will embrace the two faces of flamenco: orthodoxy, which focuses on the roots and provides the great referential frameworks on which to build; and heterodoxy, breaking boundaries and moving forward towards the evolution of the genre in the arms of experimentation.

Thus, the seventh showcase of FlamencoEñe will feature not only its six usual concerts, which seek to take the pulse of the exportable side of flamenco, but will also open up to radical visions through FlamencoEñeOFF, with six other recitals by artists who inhabit the margins of the genre, always willing to explore into new realms. Both approaches will take place in Madrid from December 1 to 3, 2022.

On the one hand, FlamencoEñe 2022 will return to the Sala Berlanga with six veteran and rising authors that define the great trio of flamenco instruments: voice, guitar and piano. Starting at 7:00 p.m. the showcase will present double sessions with Juan Pérez Trío, Dolores ‘La Agujeta’, Anabel Valencia, José Anillo, Joni Giménez and Niño Josele. Sala Berlanga, calle Andrés Mellado 53. Tickets on sale at the box office and at entradas.com.

On the other hand, FlamencoEñeOFF will take place in collaboration with La Noche en Vivo. This showcase will feature six heterodox flamenco concerts, free admission until full capacity at Sala Morocco in Madrid, starting at 9:00 p.m., also held from December 1 to 3 as culmination of the FlamencoEñe sessions. It is meant to be a risk taking series that will present projects by Cristian de Moret, Yeli Yeli, Isabel Do Diego, Perrate | Arbol, LaboratoriA and David Lagos. Sala Morocco, calle Marqués de Leganés 7.
