Zakir Hussain, the world-famous master of the Indian tabla, and rising sitar maestro Niladri Kumar are set to perform on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.
Both musicians are at the very top of their form, and together represent the very essence of music: rhythm and melody. Their performances are opportunities for transcendent flights of musical imagination rooted in one of the world’s great musical traditions, Northern Indian “Hindustani” classical music. The thousand-year-old tradition of matchless interaction between drummer and melody player has passed to the best imaginable hands.
This concert is part of the World Music Institute’s Masters of Indian Music Series
