Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra to Perform in New York City at SummerStage 2022

Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra Featuring Hassan Hakmoun, Dave Liebman, Marcus Gilmore, Graham Haynes, and Brooklyn Raga Massive are set to perform in New York City on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Hearkening back to its early years curating music in New York City, the World Music Institute is reviving the Improvisations Series.

Grounded in New York’s fertile jazz and improvised world music scene, the series brought together musicians from various backgrounds and cultures, many who had never performed together before. A core member of those shows was drummer, percussionist, and sometime Acting Music Director Adam Rudolph. He performed on over a dozen ‘Improvisations’ shows, and his later projects, ‘Moving Pictures’ and ‘Go: Organic Orchestra’ (featured at this event) were partly inspired by these unique World Music Institute events.

  1. Amazing show. The band left me thinking it was channeling McLaughlin’s Shakti, an extension of Miles’ Bitches Brew and, pehaps, some of the more delicate compositions created by the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

I was amazed at how tight an ensemble of such size could be, even if many of the musicians were reading from sheet music. I can only imagine what the rehearsals must have been like.

    Graham Haynes is vastly underrated.
