American vocalist, songwriter, banjo player, guitarist, and educator Molly Rose Tuttle was born January 14, 1993, in Santa Clara, California, USA. Raised in Northern California, Tuttle moved to Boston and later to Nashville in 2015.
She is a highly respected musician, skilled in flatpicking, clawhammer, and crosspicking techniques.
In 2017, Tuttle was the first woman to win the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Guitar Player of the Year award. In 2018, she won the Guitar Player of the Year award once more, together with being named the Americana Music Association’s Instrumentalist of the Year.
Her first album was “When You’re Ready” followed by “But I’d rather be with you”, a covers album released in 2020.
Tuttle has performed around the world, including shows with Sam Bush, Béla Fleck, Hiss Golden Messenger, Jason Isbell, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Dwight Yoakam as well as at several major festivals including Bonnaroo, Newport Folk, and Pilgrimage.
In 2022, Tuttle released a bluegrass album titled “Crooked Tree” featuring some of the genre’s biggest stars as guest musicians.
Tuttle was named Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2022 International Bluegrass Music Awards,
In February 2023, Molly Tuttle’s Crooked Tree won Best Bluegrass Album at the 65th Grammy Awards.
