Tasty Cinnamon Grooves

Canelita Sabrosa – Canelita Sabrosa (2022)

American band Canelita Sabrosa (tasty cinnamon) performs a pleasurable mix of smooth Latin Jazz and Cuban rhythms with engaging Santana-style Latin rock, funk grooves, pop and R&B elements. The band’s sound is characterized by a superb rhythm section, excellent electric guitar work and less attractive smooth jazz saxophone. Although most of the album is instrumental, Canelita Sabrosa includes 5 tracks with alternate vocal versions that have a pop flavor.

The lineup includes Chris Nettuno on congas, vocals and acoustic guitar; Julio Miranda Jr. on acoustic and electric guitars, trumpet; Frank Quiñones on drums and percussion; Matt Stallard on bass; J. Troy and Andre Bowman on trumpet; Justin Powell on saxophone; and EJ Hughes and Mac Isseks on flute.
