Misha Sultan – Roots (Hive Mind Records, 2022)

Misha Sultan is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Novosibirsk in the heart of Siberia. His hometown’s location, in the wilderness between Europe and Asia, provides a profound source of inspiration for his music.

Hive Mind Records worked with Misha to release this stunning collection of recordings made between 2015 and 2022. Roots is a fine introduction to Misha’s unique sound that incorporates elements of Eurasian folk music, psychedelia, 1990s chill-out, breakbeat, dub, and field recordings to produce a captivating sound.

While Hive Mind Records and Misha were working on this release, Russia invaded Ukraine and Misha was forced to leave the country quite suddenly. All money from sales of the digital album will go straight to the artist in order to help through this difficult time.
