Parisian Pop with Danceable Global Beats

French band Paris Combo has released a new album titled “Quesaco?” (What is all this?) on Six Degrees Records. Although the quintet is marketed to the world music audience, it is essentially a pop band with hip shaking rhythms and pop hooks. However, they do spice up their music with elements of Latin jazz, reggae, Brazilian and Cuban music, Gypsy jazz and Parisian flavors.

“Quesaco?” is Paris Combo’s seventh studio album and also the final recording with the ensemble’s late singer-songwriter Belle du Berry, who sadly died suddenly on August 11, 2020, aged just 54, after a brief battle with cancer.
