Pádraig Rynne – Begin With The End In Mind (2022)
Composer and concertina maestro Pádraig Rynne goes back to his traditional Irish folk music roots on the recently released “Begin With The End In Mind” album. For this occasion, Pádraig Rynne has selected a set of traditional tunes as well as his own finely sculpted original compositions.
This Celtic music instrumental album highlights the versatility of the concertina as a solo instrument. Straightaway, it is a deeply satisfying recording, celebrating the beauty of the concertina and the rich and lively Irish folk traditions.
Pádraig invited a fabulous group of musicians from Ireland, Scotland the Spanish region of Asturias who enrich the album with stirring performances.
“Begin With The End In Mind” is Pádraig Rynne’s traditional solo album since” Bye A While”, released in 2005.
Pádraig’s father, Tom, was an outstanding accordion player. Pádraig spent his early years traveling to sessions with his father, uncle Joe Rynne, Michael Kelliher and concertina player Paddy Murphy. Indeed, these early influences are clearly visible in this album as well as melodies learned from good friends such as Arty McGlynn, John McMahon, Bríd Meaney and Matt Molloy.
Notably, Pádraig Rynne is a member of the well-known progressive Irish folk band Notify. He has been touring with Tara Breen, Jim Murray and Dónal Lunny over the past 12 months. Pádraig is a former member of bands such as Atlantic Arc and Guidewires and is a very much in demand producer and performer working with a wide rangey of musicians from different genres of music and parts of the world.
