Guitarist and composer Melón Jiménez was born in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain). Indeed, he grew up in a flamenco environment. Melón Jiménez demonstrated this with his guitar since he was 4 years old.

In 2009, he accompanied Enrique Morente in his last concerts and in 2011; he embarked on an international tour with the sitarist Anoushka Shankar. Since then, he has carried out countless collaborations with other artists, notably Jorge Pardo, Pitingo, Robi Draco Rosa, Mulatu Astatke, Estrella Morente, Armando Manzanero, Ketama, Javier Colina, Tino di Geraldo, and Richard Bona.

Currently, Melón Jiménez spends most of his time between Madrid and Jerez.

In 2022, Melón Jiménez released the album Ecos de Magerit, a tribute to the city of Madrid and the places where he developed his professional skills as a musician. Guests include Carles Benavent on bass; El Piraña on percussion; and Canadian flute player Lara Wong.
