Korea’s Black String to Perform in New York City

South Korean quartet Black String is set to perform on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Chelsea Table and Stage in Manhattan, New York City.

Black String is a modern improvisational ensemble led by Yoon Jeong Heo, an educator, Artistic Director of Seoul’s Bukchon Changwoo Theater, and one of few female masters of the geomungo (a traditional Korean zither).

The ensemble’s discography includes Mask Dance (2016) and Karma (2019).

The quartet includes Yoon Jeong Heo on geomungo; Jean Oh on electric guitar; Aram Lee on daegeum, sogeum, yanggeum; and Min Wang Hwang on janggu, vocals.

The venue, Chelsea Table + Stage is is located at 152 West 26th Street, inside the Hilton New York Fashion District.

This concert is presented by World Music Institute in Partnership with Chelsea Table and Stage and the Korean Cultural Center NY.
