Aire Recreates the traditional Dances of Porto de Mós

Portuguese folk band Aire has released Danças de Porto de Mós (Sons Vadios, 2021), an album based on traditional dances from the municipality of Porto de Mós, located in the central region of Portugal. Aire recreates these traditional dances with new arrangements.

Aires goal is ,s to return traditional dances to people’s daily lives, especially in current times where pop culture is everywhere, although many people do not know the traditional culture of the region where they were born and live in.

Members include dance teacher and researcher Marisa Barroso; Anne Clément on flutes and vocals; Emiliana Silva on violin; Rafael Gomes on diatonic accordion; Samuel Louro on drums, percussion, guitar; Sara Vidal on vocals, Celtic harp.
