Artist Profiles: Antonio “El Turry”

Flamenco singer Antonio “El Turry” was born in Almuñécar (Granada province). He is the son of guitarist Ricardo de la Juana and flamenco dancer Rosa “La Canastera”. At the age of 10, he joined his father’s company, thus launching his professional career.

At the age of 18, he moved from Almuñécar to the city of Granada where he started began to work at the main flamenco clubs in the area. Since then, and despite his young age, he has worked with many leading flamenco artists, including Eva Yerbabuena, Marina Heredia, Juan de Juan, and Antonio “El Farru”.

Antonio “El Turry” created two original shows, Flamenco por naturaleza (2015) and Misa flamenca (2016). He released an album in 2019, titled Sentir que sueño, which he composed and produced. It features artists such as Jorge Pardo, Jerónimo Maya and Israel Suárez “Piraña”.

In 2021, at the FlamencoEñe international showcase, he presented his second album, Borracho de arte, accompanied by the guitarists Jesús de Rosario and Robert Svad.
