Paris-based band Delgres has released a new album titled “4:00 AM” (PiAS Records). Delgres combines blues rock with French Caribbean music and New Orleans rhythms.
The lyrics are sung primarily in Creole and they address topics such as poverty, slavery, and the efforts of the immigrant searching for a better life.
“The blues is not sad music,” says singer-songwriter, and guitarist Pascal Danae, the founder, and leader of Delgres. “They might be talking about terrible conditions, about terrible losses, but the bottom line is hope.”
