Elena Ledda – Lantias (S’Ard Music, 2018)

Lantias is the 15th album from the top Sardinian vocalist and charismatic songwriter Elena Ledda. The music on “Lantias” is rooted in the traditions of the island of Sardinia (Italy).

The material on Lantias” consists of original songs by Leddas deeply grounded in Sardinian tradition along with one traditional song. Her gorgeous voice sings in the Sardinian dialect and one traditional song in Spanish as well. The physical version of the album includes a booklet with the original Sardinian and Spanish lyrics along with the Italian and English language translations.

The wonderful musical arrangements combine traditional Italian instruments, African music elements and the high energy of modern drums, electric guitars and jazz clarinet.

Lineup: Elena Ledda on lead vocals; Mauro Palmas on liuto cantabile (a 10-string mandocello), lute, mandola and mandocello; Marcello Peghin on 10-string classical guitar, baritone and electric guitar; Silvano Lobina on bass and folk guitar; Andrea Ruggeri on drums and percussion; Simonetta Soro on vocals; Gabriele Mirabassi on clarinet; Enzo Avitabile on saxophone; Luigi Lai on launeddas; Gigi Biolkati on kalimba; and Gianluca Pischedda on cello.
