New Book: New York and the International Sound of Latin Music, 1940-1990

A new 440-page book titled New York and the International Sound of Latin Music, 1940-1990 is now available. The author is musician and professor Benjamin Lapidus, Ph.D., Professor of Music at the The City University of New York.

New York City has long been an influential location for the transnational Latin music scene. Benjamin Lapidus seeks to acknowledge many of the Spanish Caribbean musicians based in the New York City area, especially those who have historically gone unnoticed.
