Kíla, one of the greatest Irish contemporary folk music bands has announced a virtual concert at selected venues and festivals across North America. The one-hour hour long concert will be streamed on September 26th at 7:30 p.m. local time. The concert is free but registration is mandatory, with a suggested donation of $10 to paypal.me/kilarecords to cover costs.
For this performance, Kíla is collaborating with Danielle Devlin from Canis Major Music in Vermont. The band’s flute player, Colm Ó Snodaigh said: “We haven’t traveled abroad since March when we left Paris as Europe began to lock down. But we are traveling to the US and Canada in a virtual tour next Saturday evening, 26th September. Though COVID-challenged we decided to do the tour virtually bringing our hip-shaking, smile-making funky-kinda-trad.”
