Miami’s North Beach Bandshell to present Virtual Concerts

North Beach Bandshell is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the venue has announced a full season of live-streaming concerts and events from the Bandshell.

The next event will be the virtual edition of the annual world music series Afro Roots Fest on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 8:00 pm.

Afro Roots Fest 2020 will feature live-streamed concert sets by Spam Allstars, Cortadito, and Johnny Dread; and recorded sets by East African retro pop artist Alsarah (of Alsarah and the Nubatones), and Venezonix.  Hosted by Georges Collinet of Afropop Worldwide.

Performances schedule (all times EDT):

Johnny Dread: 8 – 8:40 p.m. (live)

Alsarah: 8:40 to 9 p.m. (pre-recorded)

Cortadito: 9 – 9:40 p.m. (live)

Venezonix: 9:40 to 10 p.m. (pre-recorded)

TBA: 10 to 10:10 p.m. (pre-recorded)

Spam Allstars: 10:10 to 11 p.m.
