Vocalist and composer Ngaire Laun J Joseph, better known as Ngaiire, was born in 1984 in Lae, Morobe Province, in Papua New Guinea.
Ngaiire emigrated to Australia at the age of 16. In Australia she performed with reggae band Blue King Brown (20042006) and gypsy jazz act Monsieur Camembert.
The highly creative Papuan artist is known for her exuberant clothes and her crossover roots and pop style. She has composed scores for dance productions and her live performances combine fashion, art and music.
In 2013 she released her first solo album titled Lamentations.
