Emerging reggae star Mortimer has a new single titled “Lightning,” released via a partnership between top producer Winta James’s Overstand Entertainment and reggae label Easy Star Records
“Lightning” is a classic slow beat reggae love song with a modern update. With a thin rhythm section featuring a live Hammond organ and rhythm guitar, joined later by live steel guitar, brass, and synthesizers, which build to a fervent climax.
Mortimer’s previous single for Overstand/Easy Star was “Careful,” which came out in October 2018.
Mortimer is also well-known for his collaborations with Protoje, including a highlighted spot on the song “Truths & Rights” from the album A Matter of Time.
