Luis Fernández Soto, better known as Luis el Zambo (Jerez, 1949) was born in Taxdirt street (calle La Sangre) in Jerez’s Santiago barrio. He has mastered the styles and rhythms that stem from the Gipsy tradition.
After participating in the album Cayos Reales- Los Juncales de Jerez, his friends encouraged him to a professional singer. He later recorded with his brothers and collaborated with Tomatito, Moraito Chico, Miguel Poveda, and a compilation released for the 11th Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla
El Zambo performed at the top flamenco stages in Seville and Madrid, achieving success. He now performs the purest forms based in traditional Gypsy song.
