Séamus Connolly

Fiddler Séamus Connolly was born in Killaloe, Clare, in 1944. He’s Ten times All-Ireland champion.

In his earlier days in Ireland he was fortunate to play with many of the giants in the world of music, men and women who kept traditional music alive through difficult periods of change. He now records and performs with some of the biggest names in current Celtic music.

In 1976, he emigrated to the United States, relocating to the Boston area where he started teaching various regional styles of Irish fiddling.

He is a 2013 National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) National Heritage Fellow.
