Dr. Suman Sharma holds a Doctorate in Music from the University of Delhi, where she studied with Pandit Debu Chaudhuri; she has also studied with Ms. Kamlesh Mathur and Balwant Rai Verma. She is a recipient of a fellowship of the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), awarded by the Government Of India, and also holds a Sangeet Visharad in vocal music. She has performed widely, including at the Kennedy Center.
Melody of Joy, My Sitar, Sitar Saurabh, and Monsoon are four of her most popular music albums. She has also written a couple of books, Know Indian Songs and My Favorites
