Ram Narayan

Ram Narayan is one of India’s leading sarangi players and innovators. He developed the sarangi into a solo classical instrument in the North Indian repertoire.

He is renowned for his distinctive style which has been emulated throughout India. At hia concerts he is sometimes be joined by his son, Brij Narayan (sarod), and his daughter, Aruna Narayan (sarangi), who are carrying on the legacy of their illustrious father. Brij Narayan is one of the finest sarod players of his generation; Aruna Narayan has the distinction of being the only female player of the sarangi.
