Kartik Seshadri

Kartik Seshadri began his initial training in music began with Shankar Rao of All India Radio. In 1974 he became a disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Kartik has performed widely in India at such venues as the Sangeet Natak Academy, Dover Lane Music Conference, Madras Music Academy, and the Sangeet Research Academy (SRA) Music Festival.

In the United States and Canada, Kartik’s solo engagements included the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, World Music Institute, Asia Society, Vancouver Jazz Festival and Ravi Shankar’s 75th Birthday Celebrations.

Kartik has accompanied Pandit Ravi Shankar in India, Europe, Middle East, Japan, Mexico and the United States, including Carnegie Hall. Kartik is also a composer whose Quartet for a Raga received its world premiere in Washington, DC. He also serves on the faculty at the University of California, San Diego.
