Jayant Kumar Das is a performer of sitar, rudra veena and surbahar and traditional VilayatKhani style sitar. He learned the art of demonstration sitar and rudra veena and surbahar from Ustad Vilayar Khan and Ustad Imrat Khan. He is now associated with Indian radio and television as a composer. Kumar Das has been to the USA and other countries as a lecturer.
Jayant Kumar Das also runs a sitar school in Bangalore. Anybody can participate in Ayurveda meditation and there are music residential courses for one week or on a yearly basis.
He also performs frequent fusions of sitar music and western instruments.
