Flamencos and mestizos on December 15 with ‘El Perrete’ and La Serrata’

On December 15th, the Sala Berlanga in Madrid will host a performance of flamenco youth and roots as part of the Flamencos y Mestizos series produced by the SGAE Foundation..

The evening will open with singer Francisco Escudero ‘El Perrete’ from Extremadura (western Spain). He’ll present his first album, a pure and fresh show full of nostalgia. Dancer Natalia del Mar ‘La Serrata’, who currently works with La Farruca in the show Del llanto y del fuego, will follow.

Francisco Escudero “El Perrete” (Badajoz, 1992) got started in flamenco thanks to Antonio Silva Giles “El Peregrino”. In 2010 he was awarded the flamenco scholarship “Porrina de Badajoz” and began to win singing contests, accumulating 13 in seven years. He participated in different flamenco festivals and international tours. In addition to his artistic activity, he has taken part in various conferences related to flamenco.

 

Natalia del Mar ‘La Serrata’

 

The bailaora (dancer) Natalia del Mar ‘La Serrata’ received a degree in Classical Dance by the Royal Academy of London, but was dancing in Madrid’s theaters when she opted for flamenco and started creating her own choreographies.

Born in Almería, her flamenco education was provided by masters such as José Galván and La Farruca (with whom she has shared the stage), Farruquito, La Faraona, Luis Peña and Juana Amaya. She will be traveling to the United States La Farruca’s show Del llanto y del fuego.
