The Skirball Cultural Center has announced the 21st season of its yearly free summer performances, Sunset Concerts. Coinciding with the Skirball’s latest exposition, Paul Simon: Words & Music (available until September 3, 2017), the 2017 season is inspired by Paul Simon’s groundbreaking efforts to bring world music to pop audiences while assembling bridges across cultures. The lineup this year reflects this vision.
The 2017 Sunset Concerts programs includes: American Tune Featuring Sean Watkins & Friends: A Singer-Songwriter Celebration of Paul Simon (July 27); Ibibio Sound Machine (August 3); Delgres (August 10); Daymé Arocena (August 17); David Buchbinder’s Odessa/Havana (August 24); and Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo (August 31).
The six Thursday night concerts are presented free of charge in the Skirball’s charming central courtyard.
