Le Vent Du Nord, the leading French-Canadian band, is set to perform on April 11 in Brooklyn (New York). The award-winning group will showcase its new album titled Têtu (Borealis Records). Le Vent Du Nord combines traditional Québécois music with the modern sounds of Montréal.
Têtu means Determined and includes 15 tracks dealing with politics, love, and satire, plus several foot-stomping pieces.
The lineup includes Nicolas Boulerice on vocals, hurdy gurdy, piano accordion, piano; Olivier Demers on vocals, fiddle, foot-tapping and guitar; Simon Beaudry on vocals, guitar, Irish bouzouki; and Réjean Brunet on vocals, diatonic button accordion, acoustic bass guitar, piano and jaw harp.
The group’s discography includes: Maudite Moisson! (2003), Les Amants du Saint-Laurent (2005), Dans les Airs (2008), Mesdames Et Messieurs! – Live (2008), La Part du Feu (2009) and Tromper Le Temps (2012).
