Nigerien band Tal National is set to perform on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Arab American National Museum (AANM)’s Global Fridays 2015 series. Tal National will present a workshop at 5:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. there will be ribbon-cutting ceremony to present the new venue, The Annex + AANM 10th anniversary announcement. The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. at The Annex at AANM.
Niger’s Tal National performs engaging guitar-oriented music. Wildly popular at home, the band keeps the energy high with exuberant singing, skillfully interwoven guitars and loping percussion. The group’s U.S. tour provides a vacation from bandleader Almeida’s day job as a judge in Niger. The band’s discography includes Kaani and Zoy Zoy.
The Annex is adjacent to the Museum at 13620 Michigan Ave., just west of Schaefer Road in Dearborn. Free, lighted parking is available in the municipal lot north of the Museum.
