WOMEX 2014 Opening Ceremony on October 22 to Celebrate Compostela’s Musical Connections

The WOMEX 2014 Opening Ceremony will take place at the Auditorio de Galicia on Wednesday, October 22. The show will be based around the theme of ‘Compostela: The Roots, The Way‘.

Directed by piper, flutist and composer Xosé Manuel Budiño, ‘Compostela: The Roots, The Way‘ will include high profile musicians from various parts of Spain and Portugal. Spanish regions represented include the Canary Islands, the Basque Country, Andalucia, and Madrid.

Doors will open at 19:30 and the program will continue until midnight. The concert will be followed by a reception with drinks, tapas and music provided by a DJ.
