Oslo World Music Festival and Torshov Transittmottak will present a free concert with Samsaya, Baba Soul and Degos and the Silky Johnson Saturday on August 30, 2014.
“Oslo World Music Festival has since its inception 21 years ago focused on democracy, human rights, justice, freedom of expression and integration,” says festival director Alexandra Archetti. “Oslo World Music Festival takes place in the fall, but we start the season with a brand new project on Torshov Transit reception. With #vårtnabolag (our neighborhood), we invite the public to a day of concerts, food and entertainment, a concert venue a little out of the ordinary. #vårtnabolag will create meeting spaces that can give us a greater understanding of the world we live in. Music is an important bridge builder and this Saturday, the public has the opportunity to become more familiar with familiar with their neighborhoods.”
