The first edition of the Sound of Dragon Music Festival will take place May 9-11 in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).

Sound of Dragon Music Festival is Vancouver’s first festival dedicated to Chinese music, showcasing very diverse musical styles, including ancient folk and classical repertoire, contemporary compositions, jazz, world music, fusion, and avant-garde improvisation in solo, chamber, and orchestral concerts.

While presenting genuine traditional music, the festival stimulates creativity and innovation in imaginative new ensembles and projects that utilize unusual cross-cultural instrumentations. By programming musicians, ensembles and composers from different ethnicities, nationalities, and musical genres, Sound of Dragon re-defines Chinese music and displays Vancouver’s growing multicultural environment, representing a highly creative music scene.
