WOMEX 2014 Accepting Proposals for Potential Conference Speakers and Mentors

womex-250World Music Expo WOMEX is seeking proposals that examine Spain’s varied musical tracks, from the internationally heralded flamenco to the Celtic-influenced folk from WOMEX’s host region Galicia, and from música mestiza to música electrónica and how these diverse scenes and their respective business infrastructure evolve in the 21st century are particularly encouraged. WOMEX 2014 will take place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain from Wednesday, October 22 until Sunday, October 26.

The two other focal points of the WOMEX Conference will be the ins and outs of global club music, and synergies between jazz and world music. WOMEX is looking forward to hearing from the experts of each field.

Specialists and industry leaders are also called upon to share their knowledge on all manner of key areas such as live production and touring, label and publishing, PR, new tools & technologies with WOMEX delegates via the One-to-One or Roundtable Mentoring Sessions.

The 2013 Conference saw more than 80 speakers and mentors from 25 countries convene over 20 Conferences plus Mentoring Sessions. The Conference program is compiled in consultation with the WOMEX Jury.
