Offiong Bassey (2013)

The self-titled debut album by Nigerian-American vocalist Offiong Bassey embraces African-American and African musical roots. Gifted with a great voice, Offiong Bassey’s first cuts on the album present a set of easy to listen radio-oriented R&B songs. Things get much better when Offiong Bassey ventures into Afro-Jazz and Nigerian roots music, such as Afrobeat and Highlife.

The album features musicians from Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco and other parts of the globe.

Offiong Bassey’s first recording introduces a great young artist with a promising career who blends R&B, jazz and the traditional and modern sounds of Africa seamlessly.
