New York’s RetroFret Vintage Guitars is celebrating its 30th Anniversary and the 180th Anniversary of C. F. Martin setting up his guitar shop in New York City with the book release party and book signing of “Inventing the American Guitar” on Saturday November 23, 2013. The founder of RetroFret, Steve Uhrik, and Peter Szego, the book’s co-author, will both be present at this double event.
“This month is a personally significant time in guitar history for me – the 6th of November marks exactly 180 years since Christian Frederick Martin moved to New York City and set up shop. The 18th marks 30 years since I established the RetroFret guitar shop here on Butler Street in Brooklyn. I could not think of a better way to celebrate than by hosting the book signing for this incredible project by Mr. Shaw and Mr. Szego,” said Steve Uhrik of RetroFret Vintage Guitars.
