World music expo WOMEX announced today the names of the professionals that will form the selection jury for the showcases and conferences that will take place this fall in Cardiff, Wales.
Jury members are also known as samurai. The 5 Showcase Samurai for 2013 are Miriam Leah Brenner (USA/The Netherlands) of Kokako Music; Alan James (UK) of Hold Tight; Valentin Langlois (France) of Helico; Ankur Malhotra (India/USA) of Amarrass Records; and Fruszina Szép (Hungary) of Sziget Festival.
The 2 Conference Samurai are_Eva Kiltz (Germany) of VUT Association of Independent Music Companies; and Faisal Kiwewa (Uganda) of Bayimba Cultural Foundation.
The next edition of WOMEX, the most important international gathering of world music professionals, will take place in Cardiff, Wales, UK, from Wednesday, 23, to Sunday, 27 October 2013. In 2014 WOMEX will be moving to Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, northwestern Spain.
