Sergio Mendes
Colour Collection (Universal)
Sérgio Mendes, Grammy-winning Brazilian musician, has released over three dozen albums blending bossa nova with pop and funk. One of the most recent releases, Timeless, features a wide array of neo-soul and alternative hip hop guest artists, most prominently will.i.am and The Black Eyed Peas.
The Colour Compilation is a collection of tunes including Mas Que Nada. But some of the other tracks on this album come across rather lame, especially the renditions of the Beatles classics Day Tripper and Norwegian Wood. If you are looking for better albums by Mendes, we would recommend Brasileiro and Oceano instead.
