Talvin Singh
Ha (Universal)
This album again showcases UK-based Talvin Singh’s abilities to move between West and East, blending mixed percussive sound with Hindi devotional or Hindustani classical elements such as Ustad Sultan Khan on sarangi.
Ambient textures, drum’n’bass and tabla effortlessly weave together on this album. Talvin Singh has also worked with a range of international artistes and jammed with a number of amped-up Asian underground bands.
There are 10 tracks on this album, of which we recommend ‘One,’ ‘Sway of the Universe,’ ‘It’s Not Over’ and ‘Dubla.’ If you like this album, you would also like his other releases ‘Back to Mine,’ ‘OK’ and ‘Anokha.’
