Multi-instrumentalist Loga Ramin Torkian has been one of the leading figures in the North American world music scene for the past years. Born in Iran, Loga Ramin Torkian was involved in some of the most interesting projects involving contemporary Iranian music-inspired contemporary world music projects: Niyaz and Axiom Of Choice.
Although Loga Ramin Torkian‘s music has been associated with the leading finest female vocalists in the Persian diaspora (Mamak Khadem and Azam Ali), his new album, titled, Mehraab, introduces an equally fabulous male voice. Khosro Ansari is an outstanding singer of the Radif (Persian classical repertoire). Ansari brings an ancient poetic tradition, while Loga Ramin Torkian provides a contemporary vision of Persian music, combining the mesmerizing custom designed guitars, bowed instruments and percussion with electronic ambience.
