Vieux Farka Touré, the fast-rising Malian guitarist/singer/songwriter and son of the legendary Ali Farka Touré, returns to the UK this weekend to perform at Truck, the UK’s premier indie festival (Winner of Best Festival at the INDY Music Awards 2008).
Taking place at Hill Farm, in Steventon (near Oxford), Vieux and his band will be performing on the main stage on Saturday, 25 July, 18:20-19.10, as part of a line-up including Ash, Supergrass and many more. Vieux last performed in the UK in May at the Jazz Café and has since been touring non-stop in Europe and North America. His second solo album ‘Fondo’ is out now on Six Degrees.
