Phoenix (Arizona), USA –
The last of Canyon’s newest round dance recordings,
True Lies From The Road, comes from Glen Ahhaitty of the Kiowa and Comanche of Oklahoma. Ahhaitty’s
songs spin tales inspired by life on the pow-wow highway and express the
experiences, people, and feelings that inhabit life on the long and winding road
of the pow-wow singer. With shades of country blues and accompanied only by the
beat of a hand drum, Ahhaitty shares the often lonesome ups and downs of life on
the open road.
Ahhaitty is currently the lead singer for his own pow-wow group, the Oklahoma
Outlaws, and was a member of the well-respected Bad Medicine and Rose Hill drum
groups. He currently resides in southern California, where he attends school at
Cal Stat Long Beach in addition to being a social worker.
