Malian duo Amadou & Mariam will be performing in Miami on Wednesday, April 26, at 8 pm. The concert, produced by the Rhythm Foundation, will be held at
Artime Theater, which is located at 900 SW 1 Street, Miami.
Among the most popular world music artists today, Amadou & Mariam have a chart-topping CD produced by Manu Chao and a 2006 Grammy nomination. The blind couple from Mali make their Florida debut with this concert, en route to the Coachella Festival in California with a 7 piece African band. Malian blues are the starting point for the group which features Mariam’s gorgeous voice, Amadou’s guitar, groove-filled tunes cowritten with Manu Chao and much more.
