Chicago (Illinois), USA – Chicago Afrobeat Project will
celebrate the release of the band’s first studio recording on November 12, 2005
with two shows at Martyrs’ located at 3855 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago, Ill.
The 21+ evening performance will feature special guests Fareed Haque, Morikeba
Kouyate, Howard Levy, Zach Brock and the CAbP Dancers (African dancers). DJ
Kennedy Octane will spin afrobeat beginning at 9 p.m., and local artist Chadwick
will paint “live art” during the performance.The all-ages afternoon performance will begin at 2:00 p.m. with an opening set
from the Lincoln Elementary School African Percussion Ensemble. CAbP will then
perform one set with the CAbP dancers.
Five percent of all sales of the new album as well as five percent of the CD
celebrations’ proceeds will benefit
Journalists Against AIDS Nigeria (JAAIDS), a non-profit organization that
creates innovative communication programs to help combat AIDS.
