(Prensa Latina) Havana, Cuba – Two famous composers, French pianist Michel Legrand and Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes, will perform along with musicians from 13 countries at the Havana´s 21st International Jazz Plaza Festival, to open next week.
Outstanding jazz musicians from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Canada, France, United
States, South Korea, Great Britain, Germany, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago,
Curacao and Cuba will come to Havana December 16 through 19 to take part in the Jazz festival.Argentinean guitarist Luis Salinas, Brazilian pianist Wagner Tiso, British
saxophonist Kevin Haynes, Point Loma University Jazz Ensemble (US) and Cobana
Orchestra (South Korea) are included in the list of international guests.
The Barbados Jazz Festival director Gilbert Rowe and the US Smithsonian Institute curator John Hasse are also included among the well-known jazz musicians to take part in the Havana festival.
A colloquium with prestigious musicians and experts will hold sessions for the first time in this festival, to become annual from 2004 on, the Festival´s organizing committee vice-president Alexis Vazquez told Prensa Latina.
Famous Cuban musicians to participate in the festival include singer Mayra Caridad Valdes, Neysi Wilson, Tamara Castañeda, vocal quartet Sexto Sentido and the duo Angelisa.
