UK – Sunday 5th September at 1 pm GMT (UTC) Samba groups around the world will attempt to set a new world record for the “Largest Simultaneous Percussion Performance”. At exactly the same time, they will all perform “Aquarela Brasileira” by the famous sambista “Silas de Oliveira”, the partiture for this is being written by world famous percussionist Robertinho Silva (http://www.robertinhosilva.com). The current percussion record was set at the Hong Kong Coliseum, Hong Kong, China on 2 July 2002 when 10,102 people played a percussive rhythm for over 6 minutes.
