Celebrated Israeli-Moroccan vocalist Emil Zrihan is scheduled to perform on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Peter Norton Symphony Space in New York City.

The sheer power and surprising range of Emil Zrihan’s countertenor have earned him renown as “the voice of the mockingbird.” Born in Morocco and living as a cantor in Israel, Zrihan brings to his repertoire a rich mixture of North African and Judeo-Andalusian folk music, fascinating mawals (improvisations), and tunes from the Mediterranean and the Orient. His multi-octave vocal displays are accompanied by oud, violin, kanun, and darbuka.
