Xafoon – A small bamboo saxophone made in Maui (Hawaii) by saxophonist Brian Wittman.
Xalam – Traditional musical instrument from West Africa with 1-5 strings. The xalam name is used in the Serer language. It is also known as khalam in Wolof. Similar instruments are found throughout West Africa.

Xiao – An end-blown vertical flute. It is made of bamboo and has six holes. The xiao makes soft and low-pitched sounds. Variations include the dongxiao, qinxiao and nanxiao. China.
Xiaocha – Small cymbals. China.
Xirula – Basque spelling of the chirula, a short 3-holed flute. Spain.
Xitende – A plucked, one-string musical bow with gourd resonator. Mozambique.
Xun – An egg-shaped ocarina made out of clay and earth mix. It has an opening on top for blowing. China.
Xylophone – Bars of wood or other materials arranged keyboard-style that are struck by mallets.
